About Ayutthaya City Park

Ayutthaya city, the former capital of Siam, is a treasure trove of historical relics and beautiful temples. These are all conveniently situated within a park, making it an ideal destination for history buffs and culture enthusiasts. Spending a few hours exploring the park offers not only a glimpse into the rich history of the region but also presents numerous photo opportunities. The city's ancient structures and intricate designs are a photographer's dream, making it a must-visit location.

On the outskirts of Ayutthaya, at the junction of roads 32 and 309, lies an average-sized shopping complex. This mall offers everything a visitor might need, from shopping to fitness facilities. It's a one-stop-shop for all essentials, making it a convenient spot for travelers.

A day trip to Ayutthaya is a popular choice for many visitors. The journey from the Sukhimvit section of the city is quite comfortable, with air-conditioned trains available from Hualamphong station. The train ride, which lasts about 1.5 hours, costs around 700 baht for two people. Upon arrival, visitors can hire a tuk-tuk driver to take them from site to site. Given the considerable distance between the sites, this is a practical and enjoyable option. Ayutthaya, being a world heritage site, is a must-visit when in Thailand. The return journey can be made via a mini-van, which is a cheaper alternative, although the traffic in Bangkok can be quite challenging.

The biggest mall in the area offers a wide selection of textiles and food. The prices are reasonable, and the service is commendable. This mall is a great place for those looking to do some serious shopping or just to enjoy a variety of food options.

Another shopping center located out of town has expanded over time and now houses both Tesco and Robinson’s under one roof. The food court upstairs operates on a cash card system, with any surplus being refunded once done. This shopping center is a great place to escape the heat and enjoy some shopping. Tuk-tuks are readily available at one entrance, near Robinson’s, to take visitors back to the center of town. The shopping center also features a few fast food shops and a newly opened sushi train.

Despite its name, the shopping center is essentially the local shopping hub, complete with a Tesco and a Robinsons Department Store. For those looking for well-priced clothes and not wanting to buy from a stall or supermarket, Robinsons is a good option. However, it's worth noting that this is much like the shopping centers one might find at home. It's a small town shopping center, but it offers a respite from the heat with its air conditioning.

For those who enjoy shopping and eating, the huge mall in the area is a favorite spot. Visitors have recommended it after having visited several times over the last few years. It's a great place to spend a day shopping and enjoying a variety of food options.
