The Hong Island speed boat tour is a fun-filled adventure that includes four stops, culminating at the beautiful Hong Island. Despite an initial delay of 30 minutes, the tour is well-organized and efficiently run. The team, led by the energetic Kift, ensures that the tour moves along smoothly, with an appropriate amount of time allocated at each stop. The snorkels provided are in good condition, and the lunch offered is delicious, with a variety that surpasses other tour companies. The tour also includes a convenient drop-off service to your hotel. This active tour, with its snorkeling and beach activities, can be conveniently booked the night before.Another tour option is the Bamboo Island, Maya Bay, Phi Phi Islands, and Monkey Beach tour, which is run by Barracuda tours. The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel and a boat ride from Ao Nang. The staff on board are friendly and helpful, with the lady guide providing clear translations in English. The tour includes clear instructions for each stop, ample time to explore, and two snorkeling stops. Refreshments are provided on board, including fresh watermelon. The lunch, while cold, is decent and fresh. The tour offers a unique opportunity to visit these stunning locations with fewer crowds, enhancing the overall experience.
However, not all experiences are as positive. Some visitors have reported poor organization with the 4 islands tour booked through the Barracuda agency. Despite the competitive pricing, the tour was marred by misinformation, a lack of fruit as promised, and a delay in transportation back to Ao Nang.
Some visitors have also reported overcrowded speedboats, which detracted from the overall experience. Changes to the tour itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a King's visit, were not communicated in advance, leading to dissatisfaction.
Similarly, another 4 islands tour on a long tail boat was reported to be disappointing. The boat was overcrowded and slower than other boats, resulting in less time to explore the islands. Despite the beautiful scenery, the overcrowded conditions and the old, slow boat negatively impacted the experience.
On a more positive note, the 4 island tour from Krabi is led by a very energetic team. They provide clear instructions before the tour starts and serve fresh fruits on the boat. The team's joyful demeanor and their music and dance on the boat add to the overall enjoyment of the tour.
The tour led by Mr. Tuk and his staff is also highly recommended. They are friendly and warm, taking the time to engage with each guest personally. They provide valuable information about the islands and create a welcoming atmosphere. However, some guests have suggested that the inclusion of more activities could enhance the tour experience.
In conclusion, while there are a few negative experiences, the majority of the tours offer a fun and engaging way to explore the beautiful islands. The friendly and energetic staff, the beautiful scenery, and the opportunity to snorkel and explore the beaches make these tours a must-do when visiting the area.
