About Benjakitti Park

The bridge and walkway that connects Lumpini Park and Benjakiti Park is a must-visit for anyone spending time in Bangkok. This elevated path can be accessed from either end, providing a delightful stroll between two of the city's most beautiful parks. The walkway is well-documented online for those seeking more information.

Upon arriving in Bangkok, one might be surprised to find such a serene green space amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. The park, split into two distinct areas, offers a traditional park filled with plants, trees, and a man-made lake, and a newer wetland area. Both sections are seamlessly integrated and offer a peaceful retreat from the city's noise. The wetlands feature paths and an elevated walkway with viewing areas. A skywalk, known as 'The Green Mile', links Benjakiti with Lumphini park, providing a traffic-free route, although it can be a bit tricky to locate.

The park is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, with many people choosing to jog around the park's 2KM loop. Recreational activities are often held in the park, adding to its appeal. The park's proximity to MRT Queen Sirikit, MRT Sukhumvit & BTS Asok makes it easily accessible, and the bridges and walking paths are a highlight for many visitors.

However, it's worth noting that while the park is a wonderful place for a walk and features a large lake, it no longer offers bike rentals. Despite numerous signs directing visitors to the bike rental location, there are no bicycles available in the park, which may be a disappointment for some.

While some visitors may find the park lacking in atmosphere compared to other parks in Bangkok, such as Lumphini, Rama 9, Chatuchak, Queen Sirikit, and the railway park, others consider it a hidden gem. The park's location amidst the skyscrapers gives it a unique charm, although it may not be to everyone's taste.

For those who live in Bangkok or are staying near Sukhumvit and Asoke, the park is a magnificent oasis. It's a short walk from the BTS skytrain Asoke station or the MRT subway at Asoke station. The park features two main entrances, from Asoke and the Queen Sirikit Convention Center. A walkway and separate bicycle path circle the park and lake, and visitors can rent paddle boats by the hour. A leisurely walk around the park takes approximately 30 minutes, and there are plenty of benches for those who wish to sit and relax. The park is filled with beautiful flowers, plants, trees, and palm trees, and is safe and secure for families and children. For those who only have time to visit one park in Bangkok, this park and lake come highly recommended.
