However, the golfing experience at this location is not without its flaws. The greens on the Canyon course need some work, and the clubhouse feels dated. The management and marshals have been criticized for not enforcing golf etiquette, leading to slow play and long waits. There have been instances where groups have spent more than 25 minutes per hole, blocking the entire course. The marshals do nothing to improve the game flow, and the golf carts' time limit stickers are not enforced.

The condition of the courses has also been a point of contention. The Canyon course, once one of the best in Asia, has fallen into a less than ideal state of repair. The walkways, drinks-stops, and off-fairway areas are fairly run-down. The Lakes course, while well laid out, can be very wet underfoot on the fairways during the rainy season. The greens on the Lakes course are somewhat inconsistent across 18 holes and are generally not in great shape. Many tee boxes are not level, making it difficult for the average golfer.

The bunkers on both courses are in poor condition. They often feel like playing off concrete, with most of the sand seemingly washed away. The greens on the Canyon course are large, challenging, and pretty true, but they were not in the best condition during a recent visit. They had been recently cored, and this maintenance requirement takes some time to recover from.

The golfing destination has also been criticized for its high prices. Non-golfers or followers are charged a fee, which some visitors find extortionate. The clubhouse is in need of renovation, and the restaurant does not offer free water. The food and service in the coffee shop have been described as subpar.

There have been reports of bodyguards with guns in the lobby of the clubhouse, which some visitors find off-putting. The management has also been accused of not paying its bills for the condos it uses for staff. In one instance, a group of golfers was not refunded half their green fees after the course became unplayable due to rain. The caddies who informed them of the possibility of a refund were reportedly lined up and threatened with serious trouble.

Despite these issues, the golfing destination remains a gem. The new owners have plans to restore the courses to their former glory. Many golfers look forward to the rumored restoration and the chance to play on a world-class course again. However, until these improvements are made and the management issues are addressed, some golfers may choose to avoid this location.
