Chao Samran Beach, located in Phetchaburi Province, is a popular destination for those seeking a serene and beautiful seaside experience. Despite the heat of September, the constant sea breeze provides a refreshing respite. The view is breathtaking, with the vast expanse of the sea meeting the horizon, and the food, particularly the seafood, is a delight to the palate.

Chao Samran Beach is a great alternative to Cha-am beach. It's wider and arguably more beautiful, although there is a bit more plastic rubbish on the sand. There are food sellers along the beach, but not as many as Cha-am beach. Mats are available for rent at a reasonable price, and there are public restrooms. The beach is mostly frequented by Thai people, but everyone is cheerful and welcoming.

The beach is a wonderful untouched natural stretch that goes on for miles. There are no bars, no karaoke, no malls, just relaxing sun, sea, and sand. It's recommended to visit the army officers retreat for lunch as the food is always fresh and reasonably priced.

The beach is a bit sparse with limited facilities. There are a few seafood restaurants and a 7/11. It's geared very much for Thais from Petchaburi town. There are no bars, one coffee shop, and small resorts. There appears to be future development going on, which might make it a more popular destination in the future.

A short distance north of the main Chao Samran strip is a small beach near Wat Samuttharam. This beach is quiet and safe, protected by rock seawalls, making it perfect for young children. There are some restaurants along the beach, but some of them don't serve alcohol or even allow you to bring alcohol inside.

The town might seem like a 'one horse town' at first glance, but there's more to it than meets the eye. There's an interesting temple, a museum built to house a whale carcass, and to the north of the town, a temple decorated in white, lilac, and mint green. The beach is long and clean, although there are a lot of fish and occasional jellyfish washed up. The local authorities have a project to ensure people playing in the sea wear flotation jackets, indicating a strong current. The locals are very happy to talk with visitors and there's an 'old style' Thailand atmosphere. It's a pretty place with great character.
