About Chiang Mai Mountain Biking & Kayaks
The adventure begins with a thrilling mountain biking experience. The bikes provided are of top-notch quality, debunking any claims of inferior equipment. The staff, from the owner to the guides, are professional and attentive, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. The transportation is punctual, ensuring no time is wasted. The tour itself is exhilarating, with a hike up the mountain that is enjoyable and hardly challenging. The descent on the bike, however, can be a bit challenging, especially for first-timers. But with a bit of courage and determination, it is a thrilling experience that is well worth the time. The adventure continues with a day of kayaking on the Ping river, followed by an exploration of a temple in a cave. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. The lunch provided is delicious and caters to vegetarians as well. It is recommended to bring clothes that cover your shoulders and knees for the cave activity, as there is a temple inside. For the kayaking, a hat and sunscreen are a must, as it can get quite hot on the water.
The kayaking experience is fun and not too tricky, making it suitable for novices. The guides are excellent, leading the way down the river. The journey is peaceful and serene, with the babbling of the river and the sight of wildlife providing a welcome escape from the stresses of life. After the kayaking, a scenic 45-minute drive leads to the Chiang Dao caves. The caves are stunning, with bats and a shrine inside. A Thai cave guide leads the way with a lantern, while the company's guide translates the Thai commentary.
The adventure doesn't stop there. Two days of fun-filled activities await, with Art and his team of great guides. The first day is a full day of kayaking, followed by a day of mountain biking down the jeep trail. The experiences are satisfying, with beautiful nature, great activities, and a lot of laughs with the guides.
The adventure also includes a day split between a hill walk in Doi Suthep National Park and a biking trip back down to the village. The hiking is excellent, with some parts being quite steep. However, a novice with a hiking stick would cope with no problem. The biking, on the other hand, can be quite challenging, especially for those with no off-road experience. But the satisfaction of completing it is worth the effort.
However, there are a few things to be aware of. The trip might last longer than expected, and there might be some waiting around before the activities start. The equipment provided is in good shape, and the guides are friendly and helpful. The meal provided at the end of the ride is excellent. However, the ride can be strenuous, and it might not be suitable for beginners. The group size might also be large, which could slow down the ride.
Another thing to note is that the mountain bike tour might not be as promised. There might be some waiting around before the ride starts, and the ride might be more challenging than expected. However, the guides are helpful and patient, and the scenic ride in a national park is incredibly beautiful. The owner might not be completely candid about the difficulty level of the ride and the time it takes, so it's important to have patience and be prepared for a challenging ride. Despite these issues, the adventure is still worth the experience.
