Despite this, the prices here are more competitive compared to Chiang Mai, although the supply isn't as diverse as the Chiang Mai night markets.

These stalls mainly sell fried seafood and vegetables, grilled or steamed seafood, as well as seafood and meat hotpot at very affordable prices. However, the night market can be quite chaotic and dirty, with dirty dishes and hotpot stoves on the ground.

The market is an interesting place for a short wander. It is primarily aimed at tourists, with plenty of Thai silk scarves, baggy trousers, and a very popular communal 'food court' situated in the center. There are also two more 'regular' restaurants offering entertainment. However, these may be too western-oriented for some tastes. A visit is recommended, but unless you're an avid shopper, 30 to 60 minutes should suffice. Just a two-minute walk away is a more authentic fruit market, which is also worth a visit.

The night market in Chiang Rai is easily accessible, located near the Chiang Rai Bus station. It offers a wide range of merchandise, including fabrics, housewares, clothes, souvenirs, food, and drinks. It's a great place to relax while sipping a beer or two. There is also a stage where local artists perform. A visit to the market can easily fill up two hours of your evening.
