The villa is set in a beautiful landscape, but it may not be a must-see for everyone. However, the gardens surrounding the villa are a sight to behold, even from a distance.The palace is a beautiful wooden structure, and the audio guide provided gives a detailed explanation of the different rooms and areas within the palace. The gardens are beautifully landscaped, making the palace worth a visit.
The entrance fee to the villa and its gardens is 90 Baht. If visitors are not properly dressed, clothes are provided, so there's no need to worry. The villa and gardens are a photographer's paradise, except for the interior of the villa. The villa is very well maintained, and visitors are required to remove their shoes during the tour. The tour is self-guided with a recorded audio, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace.

The gardens and the villa of the king's mother are a must-see in Chiang Rai. It's a lovely half-day trip, with beautiful sights to see. The audio guide provides interesting information about the king's mother's villa. The trip to Doi Tung is easy and cheap, with minibuses available from Chiang Rai bus station. The entrance fee to all four sights - the gardens, villa, exhibition, and arboretum - is 220 Baht per person. The arboretum, located 9km up the mountain, offers an awesome view of the mountains and distant views of Myanmar and Laos on a clear day. The journey to the arboretum and back to the bus stop at the bottom of the mountain can be arranged with a motorbike taxi. The trip is a lovely day out and highly recommended.
