About Elephant Parade Land

Visitors to Elephant Parade's art and production studio are in for a treat. This unique destination offers a behind-the-scenes tour that provides an in-depth look at the creation of the full-size Elephant Parade statues that have been displayed all over the world. The studio is not just a place to admire art, but also a place to learn about elephants, their uniqueness, their struggles, and how everyone can contribute to the well-being of these magnificent creatures.

The studio is located in Chiang Mai, a city known for its beautiful temples and bustling night markets. Here, visitors can paint their own elephant statues, adding a personal touch to their experience. The staff, including Jeanette and Aof, are always eager to show guests around and share their knowledge about elephant conservation. The studio also has a collection of replicas for those who wish to take a piece of the experience home.

Elephant Parades are a common sight in Thailand, but this particular studio stands out with its museum, workshop, and shop. Large elephant statues, painted by various artists and celebrities, are displayed outside for everyone to admire. Inside, visitors have the option to paint their own smaller elephant or purchase a replica from the collection. A portion of the proceeds from these sales goes towards elephant welfare and conservation.

The studio also has a branch in Shangrila Bangrak, Bangkok, where children can enjoy painting mini elephant statues. The staff is known for their patience and helpfulness, making it a great place for family outings. The money used to purchase these statues also contributes to elephant conservation, adding a meaningful aspect to the fun activity.

Elephant Parade Land, located about 15-20 minutes from downtown Chiang Mai, is another must-visit for Elephant Parade fans. Visitors can paint their own elephants, explore a garden filled with nearly 100 real baby-sized elephants, and purchase souvenirs. The workshop is not only a fun place for kids but also a suitable location for corporate team building. The factory, where artists can be seen painting elephants, is also part of the tour.

Elephant Parade Land was established following the treatment of a badly crippled elephant named Mosha by a veterinarian who specialized in prosthetic devices. The story of Mosha inspired the creation of this place as a method of raising awareness and funds for the cause of these great creatures. Visitors can see baby elephant-sized parade elephants in hotel lobbies and full-sized parade elephants beautifully decorated in various places around town. The shop sells beautifully decorated elephants in a variety of sizes, all for a great cause.

The Elephant Parade studio also houses a small but informative museum. Here, visitors can learn more about elephants and the mission of the studio. The opportunity to paint one's own elephant at half the original price with a leaflet from their store is a highlight for many.

Art and design lovers will appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into creating these amazing elephants. The museum and shop are great places to explore, and while the items may be a bit pricey, it's understandable given the work that goes into them. Visitors can also take a short tour around the artist's studio, the packaging area, and other parts of the building. The studio is a bit out of the way, and there's not much else around the area, but the experience is well worth the trip.
