About Emporium

The Emporium, a high-end mall located conveniently in Bangkok, is a destination for those who appreciate luxury brand boutiques. It's a place where one can find a variety of upscale brands, making it a good choice for those who are into high-end goods. However, it's not just about shopping; the mall also offers a variety of food options, making it a complete experience for visitors.

The Emporium has been a fixture on Sukhumvit for decades, and despite the emergence of higher-luxury malls, it has managed to maintain its charm. It's often compared to its sister mall, EmQuartier, which is located across the street and linked by a walkway across Sukhumvit Road. While EmQuartier is more luxurious, the Emporium is considered more basic, yet it still holds its own charm.

The mall is easily accessible from the Phrom Phong station, making it a convenient stop for both locals and tourists. It's clean, tidy, and houses upmarket brands. There are also many food places nearby, adding to the overall appeal of the area. The Emporium and EmQuartier Malls are interconnected, offering a wide range of stores and exciting food and beverage options.

One of the highlights of the mall is the food court in the basement. It offers a wide range of dishes at reasonable prices, with most items in the 80 -150 baht range. The duck noodle counter and the Tom Yum Noodle counter are particularly popular, and the staff is friendly and accommodating to foreigners.

Despite undergoing major renovations in 2014, the Emporium has managed to maintain its appeal. It's a high-end mall, similar to the Siam Paragon Mall, and houses better brands that one might find at Westfield or Meadowhall. The gourmet food hall offers delightful products, albeit at high Thai prices. However, the experience is worth it.

The Emporium is also known as the Grand Dame of Bangkok Malls, having established the first outposts of über-expensive luxury brands like Gucci, Dior, and Waterman many years ago. The Salon de L'Oriental restaurant on the ground floor is a popular spot for high tea, offering excellent cakes, desserts, and Thai food. The mall also houses a genuine Oakley outlet, fancy furniture stores, and two Starbucks outlets.

The grocery store on the 5th floor is a marvel, offering a wide range of foreign brands, fresh meats, cheeses, and massive stuffed olives. The movie theater on the sixth floor is a relaxing spot, offering a quiet drink in the VIP lounge before show time. The mall also houses a plethora of restaurants, covering Italian cuisine, sashimi, burgers, and Thai food.

Despite its high-end offerings, the Emporium is also a good place to purchase household appliances. The dealer there, Power Buy, offers delivery and installation services, making it a convenient option for shoppers. The mall also houses a Bangkok Bank branch and a Boots pharmacy that is accustomed to dealing with foreigners.

The Emporium is easily accessible via the SkyTrain, with the station feeding right into the mall on the 2nd floor. Despite its high-end offerings, the mall maintains a welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination for those visiting Bangkok.
