About Fish Cave

The Fish Cave is a unique attraction that offers a tranquil and serene environment for visitors. Nestled in the heart of a well-maintained park, the cave is home to a multitude of fish, making it a popular spot for those looking to spend a leisurely afternoon. The entrance fee for foreigners is 200 baht, while locals are charged 20 baht. For those interested in feeding the fish, buckets of fish food can be purchased near the ticket booth for 50 baht for three buckets.

While the Fish Cave itself may not be as impressive as some might expect, it is believed to hold religious significance for the Thai people. The cave is a small hole in the ground, about a meter wide, with an altar next to it. Despite its size, the park leading to the Fish Cave is a sight to behold, with numerous waterways teeming with fish. For a small fee of 50 baht, visitors can buy three small pails of vegetables to feed the fish, a simple yet enjoyable activity that can be quite thrilling as hundreds of large carp fight and splash for the food.

The Fish Cave is located within a national park, and the entrance fee also includes access to a lake and a beautiful waterfall nearby. This makes it a great option for a day trip outside of Mae Hong Son. However, some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with the pricing, as foreigners are charged five times the price for Thais. Despite this, many still find the experience of feeding the fish in the cave worth the cost.

The park offers a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Visitors can relax and enjoy the fresh air while feeding the fish with a few pails of fish food. It's truly an amazing sight to see so many fish in the cave and against the flowing water. However, some visitors have expressed that the cave is not as large as they expected, and the pricing for foreigners can be a bit steep.

Despite some mixed opinions, the Fish Cave remains a generally good place to walk and relax. The serene environment and the opportunity to feed the fish make it a unique attraction. Whether or not there is an entrance fee remains unclear, but the experience of being surrounded by nature and interacting with the fish is something that many visitors find enjoyable.
