About Green Trails

The journey began with a photography tour across six villages. The experience was a whirlwind, with each village offering a unique glimpse into the local lifestyle. However, the pace was quick, making it challenging to fully absorb the essence of the people and their way of life. Given another chance, one might choose to spend the day exploring just one village in depth.

The adventure continued with an eight-day tour from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai with Green Trails. The tour was tailored to include a variety of activities such as interacting with elephants, attending a cooking class, and bike riding. The trip was made even more enjoyable by the knowledgeable and kind guides, Rung and Joe, who ensured a seamless experience. The tour offered great value, including accommodation and a plethora of activities, making it a highly recommended choice for exploring Northern Thailand.

In Chiang Mai, the journey was filled with action and excitement. The itinerary included a hike, a walk to the summit, a tour of stupas, a visit to a local market, and a trip to waterfalls. The guide was not only knowledgeable but also accommodating to dietary restrictions. The punctuality and overall organization of the tour made it a highly recommended experience.

A day trip to Doi Inthanon was another highlight. The day was packed with activities such as hiking the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail, walking through the cloud forest, tasting local coffee, visiting a Karen village, and seeing the stunning Wachirathan Falls and Twin Pagodas. The spectacular views and informative guide made this day trip a highly recommended experience.

The two-day 'Chiang Dao tour: tribes, caves and waterfalls' was another memorable experience. The tour was authentic and respectful, offering a chance to learn about the local culture and history. The guide and driver were friendly and informative, making the experience even more enjoyable. The stunning scenery, temples, and the opportunity to meet the hospitable Dara-ang people made this tour a must-do.

However, not all experiences were as fulfilling. One tour, despite being well-organized and led by friendly guides, was found to be underwhelming. The tour involved a lot of driving and some aspects, such as the visit to the long neck women, were uncomfortable and ethically questionable. The temples visited were not as impressive as those in Thailand, and the food in Myanmar was not appealing. The tour was also considered overpriced compared to other full-day tours in Thailand.

The journey concluded with a thrilling white water rafting and eagle zip line experience. The guide provided plenty of information during the drive to the location. The rafting was exhilarating, albeit shorter than expected due to the high and fast-flowing river. The zip line experience was fun-filled, with about 30 zip lines and bridges to cross. The day also included a visit to a tribal village and the unique Elephant Poo Poo Park. Despite the unusual name, the park offered a unique and educational experience. The day ended with a comfortable drive back, making it a worthwhile experience.
