The sanctuary also offers a trekking experience in the National Park, which is a must-try for nature enthusiasts. The trek offers breathtaking views and a chance to visit the King and Queen Pagodas.
For those seeking a longer stay, the sanctuary offers a 2-day, 1-night program at the Sky Camp. This camp is located high up on the highest peak in Thailand, offering stunning views and a unique experience. The program includes spending time with the elephants, a homemade vegetarian Pad Thai meal, and a Thai BBQ dinner. The next day includes more time with the elephants and a two-hour hike to the highest peak.
The Sky Camp Elephant Sanctuary and hike is a highly recommended experience. The guides are knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about what they do. The lunch at the sanctuary is said to be amazing, and the views after the trek are absolutely stunning. This experience is often considered a highlight of many visitors' trips to Thailand.
The sanctuary also offers a combination of elephant camp, hike on Kew Mae Pan nature trail, and a visit to the Royal Pagodas. This full-day experience includes lots of playtime with the elephants, a lunch, and then the hike and visit to the Pagodas. The hike involves some moderate exertion, with lots of stairs and some elevation gain, but the views are well worth the effort. The visit to the Royal Pagodas is also a spectacular experience. The drive to the sanctuary is quite long, and some parts of the journey on 2-lane mountain roads can feel a bit scary, but the drivers are experienced and ensure a safe journey.
