The experience at the elephant sanctuary was nothing short of amazing. The sanctuary is run by a local Thai family who ensures that the animals are well cared for and happy. There were no signs of animals being chained or mistreated, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The visitors would gladly repeat the experience given the chance.

The sanctuary was introduced to the visitors by their driver. Despite the lack of information about the sanctuary, the visitors were pleasantly surprised. The lunch served was delicious, with a variety of dishes including fresh chicken tenders, salad, fruit, rice, and noodles, catering to even the pickiest of eaters. The group of five was given a private introduction to the elephants, where they chopped squashes with machetes and hand-fed the elephants. The trainers ensured that those who wanted to interact closely with the elephants got plenty of opportunities to do so. Those who preferred to observe from a distance were also accommodated. The day ended with a walk to the river to bathe the elephants, an activity that even the shyest members of the group enjoyed.

The sanctuary was a great outing for those who had a car and driver. The visitors had a wonderful time feeding and washing the elephants. The sanctuary did not disappoint and was recommended as a must-see/do for young adults.

However, there was a moment of concern when an elephant was seen chained up at the end of the day after bathing. This was a stark contrast to the otherwise positive experience at the sanctuary.

The Kanjana Elephant Sanctuary provided a wonderful experience for families. The visit started with changing into attire familiar to the elephants, followed by a discussion on the differences between African and Asian elephants. The visitors also learned several Thai words to say to the elephants. The group then cut up pumpkins to feed the elephants, who consume over 200 kilos of food per day. The visitors then walked over to where the elephants were kept and fed them their snacks. The day ended with a walk to the river where the visitors washed the elephants while they relaxed in the river. The sanctuary provided showers and lunch afterwards. The visitors spent a half day there and had a great time.
