About Khai Nok Island

The island is a sight to behold, with its beautiful beach and crystal clear water. It is home to hundreds of colourful little fish that swim very close to the shore. However, visitors should be cautious as these fish have been known to bite, causing minor injuries. The island's coral, unfortunately, has suffered from bleaching, which may be a result of changes in the biome. This has led to speculation that the fish may be resorting to biting due to a lack of food.

The island is accessible through various travel agencies, including Phuket Tropical Touch. However, some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with this agency, citing overcrowding on boats and a lack of concern for safety. They also felt that the agency did not offer much in terms of tourist activities. Instead, they recommend visiting other islands such as Bamboo Island, which they found to be more enjoyable.

The island is divided into two areas. One area features a small beach near a drinks stall and beach chairs. Unfortunately, the corals in this area have suffered due to mass tourism. The other area, however, boasts a white stretch of powdery sand, crystal clear waters, and a variety of fish. This area is great for swimming and offers an amazing view. However, for those interested in snorkeling, there are other islands or beaches in Phuket that may be more suitable.

Despite its size, the island is quite popular among tourists. It offers a unique experience, especially for solo travelers. The main attraction is the natural rock formation. However, visitors should be cautious as there are insects in the area. The island also offers cheap food and drinks, although the cleanliness of the washrooms has been a concern for some.

Unfortunately, the island has seen better days. It is now littered with trash, making it difficult to walk on the sand. The smell of gasoline from the numerous boats is also quite strong. There are food vendors all around, and the bathrooms are not well-maintained. Some visitors have described the island as a tourist trap, with overpriced dirty shacks and a lack of cleanliness.

Despite these issues, the island is still a popular stop for those on a day trip to Phi Phi Island. It offers a relaxing environment, with beautiful blue water and beach chairs available for rent. There are also beer vendors and lunch options available.

However, those looking to snorkel may be disappointed. The island is often crowded, and the coral and marine life are not as abundant as one might hope. Some visitors have also expressed concern about the amount of garbage in the area. Despite its picturesque appearance, the island has been described as a tourist trap, with many visitors simply throwing bread into the water to attract fish for selfies, rather than truly snorkeling.
