About Khao Chaison Hot Spring
The hot springs, once a popular attraction, have seen better days. A few years back, they were a bustling hub of activity, but the lack of maintenance has taken its toll. The springs are still functional, but the facilities around them could use some attention. The pool for feet dipping, in particular, is in dire need of repair. It's so hot that it can be scalding, which can be a letdown for visitors expecting a relaxing dip.Despite the state of the hot springs, there are still some redeeming features in the area. For one, there's a bit of nature to enjoy, with a few monkeys often spotted around. There's also the option of getting a massage, which can be a nice way to unwind after a long day. The parking fee is a reasonable 20 baht, and there's no entrance fee for the hot springs themselves.
Nearby, there's a cave called Tham Nam Yen, which is the real star of the area. It has two caves, one accessible by foot and the other by boat. The boat ride is a unique experience, taking visitors into the heart of the cave. It's a bit of an adventure, with some parts requiring visitors to duck or even lie down flat. The cave is home to some interesting stalactite formations, including ones that resemble elephants and marbles. The boat ride lasts around 30-45 minutes and costs 200 baht, which is well worth the money. However, those who are claustrophobic might want to skip this part of the trip.
The area could certainly benefit from some improvements. A bit of cleaning and maintenance could go a long way in making it a more attractive destination. It would also be helpful if there was some information in English available on site. As it stands, it's a place that's worth a visit if you're passing by, but not necessarily a destination in itself.
The hot springs are open from 4.30 am to 9 pm, making it a good spot for early risers. There's a free pool where visitors can sit and relax, surrounded by natural views and fresh air. For those who prefer a bit more privacy, there are private rooms available for 120 baht per hour. Towels are provided, and massages can be booked at the beginning.
The hot springs are free to visit, with a parking fee of only 20 THB per entry. The pool is well kept, with crystal clear water. The landscape is beautiful, and the charges for massages are reasonable. It's a busy place, mainly frequented by Thai people, but it's clean and relaxing. It's a nice spot to enjoy for an hour or so.
During a visit on 26 April 2018, the public pool was closed for maintenance. However, the private mineral bath was still operational. A VIP private mineral bathroom costs 200 baht per hour. The massages here are not to be missed, with a full body massage in an open fan room costing only 120 baht per hour. An air-conditioned room is slightly more expensive at 150 baht per hour. Despite the need for some improvements, the hot springs and the surrounding area still have a lot to offer.
