Srinakarin Dam, a tourist attraction under the supervision of the Provincial Electricity Authority, is a sight to behold. This 1,532-square-kilometer park is characterized by waterfalls, hot springs, caves, an island-studded reservoir, and abundant wildlife. The dam offers a beautiful viewpoint, especially in the evening, where one can see far and wide. It is a recommended stop for anyone traveling to Kanchanaburi, and is conveniently located near the Erawan waterfall. The area also boasts a variety of restaurants, offering a chance to sample local cuisine.

However, it's important to note that there have been instances of discrimination based on nationality. Some visitors, despite living in Thailand for many years and having Thai families, have reported being denied entry because they were not Thailand-born citizens. The entry fee for foreigners is also reportedly three times the price for Thai residents. This has led to some dissatisfaction and calls for a change in policy.

Despite these issues, the dam is worth a visit if you're in the area. The artificial lake created by the dam offers good views and there's a hospitality area right next to it. While it may not be packed with attractions, there are some walking trails and a few food vendors. It's a nice place to stop by if you're passing through, but may not be worth a special trip.

One of the highlights of the park is the Huay Mae Khamin waterfall. The waterfall is divided into two sections and it takes approximately an hour to walk from one end to the other. The sheer size of the area is impressive and it's a must-visit spot.

If you're returning from a resort further in the dam and planning to visit the Erawan Waterfall, a stop at the Srinakarin Dam Ridge Viewpoint is recommended. It's a great spot en route to the waterfall. The restaurant here offers good local Thai food at surprisingly low prices.

The dam is also a popular spot for relaxation. Many tourists from Thailand and around the world come here to relax on the houseboats and enjoy the water. However, visitors should be aware that there are packs of soi dogs that wander around the dam and the visitor center/park next to it. These dogs can be quite intimidating, especially in the middle of the week. Despite this, the views from the dam are spectacular and the park area is nicely done.
