About King Narai's Lopburi Palace

The historical site in Lopburi town is a fantastic place for children to learn about history. The 12th-century temple/palace offers a walkable exploration experience, allowing children to run around and read about the history behind the ancient structure. It's a great destination for a family trip, with the added excitement of monkey feeding. However, visitors are advised to keep their phones, glasses, and other belongings out of reach of the monkeys, who are known to snatch them. Roasted chickpeas or bananas are recommended as they are favorites of the monkeys.

The palace grounds are well maintained and beautifully manicured. There's also a small museum on the premises that's worth a visit. The first floor exhibits are accessed from the back, while the second and third floors are entered from the front. The museum houses antique beads among other artifacts, although the collection may not be as extensive as some might hope.

Visiting the archeological site and the two museums on the premises is a worthwhile experience. The exhibits are interesting, albeit the layout of the museum might seem a bit old-fashioned. The section about modern times is particularly intriguing, especially for those interested in the early relationship between Siam and France. The archeological site is a delight for historians.

The Palace of King Narai houses an amazing museum that takes visitors on a fascinating journey through four millennia of Thai history. The architecture of the Palace is a unique blend of different styles from around the world. The national museum inside the Palace is well organized and maintained, with a focus on the history of King Narai, particularly his international relations with France. The museum also has a section dedicated to Lopburi's ancient history, from bronze age settlements to the late Dvaravati civilization.

The Somdet Phra Narai National Museum, also known as the Lopburi Palace, is a former palace of the 17th-century King Narai. It's a top destination for anyone interested in history, culture, archaeology, or design. The museum also houses a collection of folk implements and a special exhibition of textiles.

The King Narai's palace is well maintained, with green surroundings and a walled palace. It's a 15-minute walk from the train station and offers a relaxing landscape with chairs for visitors to sit. Refreshments are available at the entrance. The museum inside the palace is a must-see, with a great collection of artifacts and written history arranged in photos with English captions. There are also souvenirs for sale on the second floor of the museum. Visitors are reminded to observe the rule of leaving shoes and slippers outside when entering the museum. The 150 baht entrance fee is considered fair for the experience offered.
