About Koh Khai Nai

The small island, nestled in the middle of the ocean, is a place that can be described as a paradox of experiences. It's a place where reggae music has been a part of the culture for as long as anyone can remember. The island's charm lies in its simplicity and the fact that it's somewhat off the beaten path, making it a unique destination for those seeking something different.

The island is home to the beautiful Khai beach, a part of a full-day sightseeing tour from Phuket. The beach is known for its crystal clear turquoise blue waters, which are a delight for tourists who enjoy swimming, bathing, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The beach also offers a variety of water sports activities such as jet skiing and banana boat rides. Small eating joints dot the beach, offering a relaxing spot to enjoy a meal by the sea.

However, not all experiences on the island have been positive. Some visitors have found the island to be overcrowded and polluted, with the smell of diesel from the numerous tour boats being a common complaint. The sand on the beach is sharp, likely due to the presence of corals, making it necessary to wear shoes. The island also has a few restaurants, but the waste management practices have been a cause for concern for some visitors.

One of the boat tour operators has been criticized for operating in bad weather conditions, putting the safety of the passengers at risk. The boat ride to Phi Phi island, in particular, has been described as a harrowing experience due to the large waves and strong winds. Some passengers have even chosen to end the tour prematurely and return to Phuket by ferry. The tour operator's response to these concerns has been less than satisfactory, with no compensation or refund offered.

The Khai Islands tour, offered by the Anurak Company, has also received negative feedback. Despite the short 20-minute boat ride, the islands are overcrowded and littered with rubbish. The continuous attempts by vendors to sell their products have also been a source of annoyance for the visitors. The coral, once a major attraction, is now in a state of decline. The behavior of the speedboat driver has also been a cause for concern.

Some visitors have found the island to be dirty and polluted, making it unsuitable for swimming. The presence of waste in the sea and on the beach has been a major issue. The tour timings have also been inconsistent, with some tours ending prematurely without any explanation.

Despite these issues, the island does have its redeeming qualities. The snorkeling trip to Khai island, for instance, has been a hit with families. The calm blue seas and the opportunity to feed fish by hand have been a wonderful experience for children. The island offers an excellent introduction to snorkeling and is a recommended destination for those seeking a relaxing and unique experience.
