The journey from Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon is a short one, but it is packed with numerous sites to visit. The day's itinerary is well planned, allowing for multiple stops at various locations. However, some travelers might find the guide's detailed explanations a bit too lengthy, extending the duration of the walks. While the information is appreciated, some visitors might prefer to explore the sites at their own pace.Unfortunately, not all experiences are smooth sailing. There have been instances where the tour operator, Local Tours Centre, failed to show up for the confirmed hotel pick-up. Despite attempts to contact them, the travelers received no response or explanation for the cancellation. This lack of communication can be quite disappointing, especially when one is eagerly looking forward to the trip.
Despite such hiccups, the trip to Doi Inthanon is generally a beautiful experience. The mountain trekking is a highlight, with a walk that lasts around two hours, including rest time. It can be a bit tiring for older folks, but the wonderful weather and the stunning views make it worthwhile.
The tour offers a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. It is well guided, providing interesting information while still allowing for some freedom and exploration at each stop. A visit to a remote mountain village is a unique experience, where one can try local coffee and a tasty lunch. The trip is definitely worth booking.
The tour guide's knowledge enhances the experience, making it a lovely day out. The lunch provided is good, and the dramatic waterfalls are a sight to behold. The Wachirathan Waterfalls, in particular, are exceptional. The tour is well paced, ensuring that travelers never feel rushed or that they are spending too much or too little time at any specific area.
The trip offers a fascinating glimpse into a unique part of Thailand. The guide does a marvelous job of explaining the background information at the sights. The small village with non-Thai people engaged in various crafts like weaving and coffee making is a sight to behold. The lunch is well prepared, and the visit to the highest mountain of Thailand is a memorable experience. The temperature at the mountain peak can drop to 12 degrees, making it feel like home for some European travelers. The trip also includes two great trails and a visit to the King and Queen Pagoda. The day ends with a visit to a local food market, where one can buy some local sweets. The trip is a great experience, thanks to the caring guide and his driver. It leaves travelers with unforgettable memories.
