About Mingta Travel

The half-day tour to Doi Suthep temple and Hmong village was met with mixed feelings. The guide, Moo, started off by showing photos of the temple, village, and palace, and briefly discussed each spot. However, he did not introduce himself until the end of the tour. The group was split into two at the start of the tour, with some opting to visit the palace and others choosing to see the Hmong village. As the only guide, Moo chose to stick with the palace group, leaving the others feeling lost and uninformed about the village. The Hmong village visit was not as expected, with the only Hmong people around selling goods on the stalls, most of which were not in their traditional dress. The visit to the Doi Suthep temple was also rushed and the guide's explanations were brief and uninteresting.

Another tour to Chiang Rai was also met with disappointment. The guide was rude, had poor English skills, and the included lunch was from a less than satisfactory restaurant in the area of the white temple. The guide, Mac, was unprofessional and did not accompany or guide the group inside the places. He was also reported to have yelled at the group and treated them badly after a slight delay at the white temple.

However, not all experiences were negative. One traveler booked three tours with Mingta Travel and found all three to be excellent. The guides were great, entertaining, very knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions. The half-day afternoon tour to Doi Suthep and the Hmong hill tribe village was enjoyable. The trip to an elephant sanctuary was the highlight of the trip, with the elephants living an amazing life in a remote private elephant camp hidden away in the mountains. The full day tour to Doi Inthanon National Park was packed with lots of waterfalls, the highest peak of Thailand, pagodas, and a 2-hour walk through rice fields and a swim.

A day trip to White Temple, Black house, and Blue temple was met with mixed reviews. The ride to these places was uncomfortable due to faulty air conditioning in the van and the back seat needing a change. The guide, Tommy, was not as professional as expected. He did not accompany the group to explain about the place and just waited until time was up.

On the other hand, a day trip to Chiang Rai from Chiang Mai, which included visits to the White and Blue temple, Black house, Golden triangle, Karen Hill tribe, and hot springs, was a great experience. The guide, Mac, spoke English well and introduced the plan of the tour and timing at the beginning. He also talked about the sights and showed pictures along the way. The lunch was good and the driver drove very safely. This agency was recommended by the travelers who had a great time with them.
