About Nikanti Golf Club

Nikanti, located just 35 kilometers west of Bangkok, is a unique golfing destination in Asia. It is perhaps the first 18-hole, par-72 course in the region that comprises three six-hole layouts. Each layout consists of two par threes, two par fours, and two par fives. This design allows golfers to start at three different points on the course, providing flexibility in the number of holes played. This distinctive all-inclusive golf experience is unparalleled in Asia. From tee to green, from the chef's kitchen to the dining table, and during exceptional private events, Nikanti Golf Club excels in every aspect.

The golf club has faced challenges due to Covid-19 regulations, with restrictions on operations leading to fewer tee times and less customers in the restaurant and Pro Shop. Despite these challenges, the course remains in outstanding condition with only a few divots visible on the fairway. The greens and fairways are maintained to perfection, and the caddies are attentive and professional. However, the course itself is a challenge, making it a great pleasure for golfers to play here.

Nikanti is renowned for its professional service, great food, and clean course. The club goes the extra mile to make golfers feel special, even putting their names on the lockers. The locker room is tidy, and the caddies are attentive. The course has maintained its top condition over the years, with the fairway and green better than ever. The caddies are experienced, have a good attitude, and are bubbly. However, there is room for improvement in the maintenance of the changing room, with some wear and tear observed.

The course is a beautiful sight to behold, with an excellent restaurant to boot. It is over an hour's drive from Bangkok, but the journey is well worth it. The course features a lot of water and long grass, so golfers should be prepared to lose a ball or two. It is one of the most posh and classiest golf courses around Bangkok, with a high clubhouse rating, excellent service, and well-maintained golf course layout.

The course comes in 3 sets of 6, with 2 par 3, 2 par 4, and 2 par 5 per set. Some par 5 is a 410-430 yards. However, the look on some holes presents a daunting view to golfers. Water and high slopes around the greens make it challenging. It is not a course for first-timers, and the 410-430 yards par 5 either gives a good score or a terribly ruined triple bogey/double par. The price of THB5500 on weekends/holidays, which includes caddie tips, buffet breakfast and lunches, and 18 holes, is a great deal. Throughout the game, golfers are served by caddies with free food/snacks brought over from the halfway house. This is a unique service that adds to the delight of playing at Nikanti.

Despite the many positives, there have been instances when the course was not in the best condition. About a week ago, every hole was piped and covered with a thick layer of sand, and the greens were in terrible condition. It was disappointing for golfers who paid 4.500 Bath for the experience. It was suggested that the course should have been closed for a week or two for maintenance.

Nevertheless, Nikanti remains a superb and challenging golf course. The quality of fairways and greens is outstanding, although it may not be suitable for beginners. The fast, undulated greens, many shots over water, and a lot of bunkers make it challenging even for lower handicap players. Despite the challenges, it is a course that many golfers enjoy and hope to play again.
