The journey began with a booking experience that was just satisfactory. The company in question, Nutty's, could have done better in terms of communication. However, the trip itself was a delightful experience, especially due to the local guides who were well-versed with the area and its culture.

The Chiang Mai Trekking and Biking trip was an interesting and very local experience. The travelers got to see the way of life of the people and try lots of regional foods. The guide was great at explaining the local culture, including temple-related questions, how the hilltribes work the tea and coffee plantations, and common food and customs. There were instances when the travelers noticed the locals or the guide having something different at meals, which sparked curiosity, but most of the food was tasty. They even got to try a few street food items they might not have known to try, like bamboo sticky rice and fried bananas.

The active parts of the trip included hikes and a bike ride. The hikes were pretty short, each just around 6 miles, and a bit boring for experienced hikers. However, the bike ride around the Chiang Dao area was greatly enjoyed. It included stops off the beaten tourist path and great views of mountains and a variety of farms.

While the trip was enjoyable, the booking experience with the company was just ok. The travelers suggested trying to go directly with local providers if possible, or maybe a different broker company. There were a few issues with the information provided by the company, such as the luggage situation and the overstated hiking hours. There was also a change in the accommodation on the second night, which was not communicated beforehand.

Despite these issues, the trip was a success. The local company, Trek with Jame, provided a great experience. The travelers were able to spend a really nice time, thanks to the incredible tour guides who took great care of everything and answered all their questions. The travelers from Germany highly recommended Nutty's Adventures for a tour in northern Thailand.

In conclusion, while the booking experience could have been better, the trip itself was a solid 4-star experience. The local guides, the food, the culture, and the activities made the trip worthwhile.
