About Pakarang Cape (Lem Hua Krung Yai)

The Coral Graveyard is a unique and captivating location that has a certain allure that keeps visitors coming back year after year. Over time, the accumulation of dead coral has formed a large island, its shape constantly evolving. The island has flattened and extended over the years, creating a serene and secluded spot where one can spend hours without encountering another soul. It's a good idea to bring drinks along, as the nearby bar isn't always open. This spot is perfect for bird watching or simply watching the sunset, making it a favorite among visitors to Khao Lak.

The journey to this location can be an adventure in itself. A bike ride to the Coral Graveyard offers a quiet, scenic route along a beautiful beach. There are a few good restaurants along the way where one can stop for a drink and enjoy the views.

Pakarang Beach is another must-see location with an interesting backstory. It's a beautiful area with reasonably priced places to eat and drink. The Boatyard restaurant is a popular choice, known for its good food and generous portions. The staff is friendly and sun beds are provided free of charge for diners.

The Coral Graveyard is a peaceful yet poignant sight, with piles of dead coral reaching up to six feet high in some places. It's as if the coral is forming its own island. This is an excellent place to watch the sunset and enjoy the tranquility of Khao Lak.

A 30-minute walk from the Sarojin hotel will lead you to a picturesque and attractive area. This quiet spot is made even more interesting by the fishing boats moored nearby.

Cape Pakarang is another location that is often overlooked by visitors, making it a fairly quiet spot. The sea around the cape is teeming with fish and the area is rich in bird life. The beach is also a great place to spend an hour or two, with plenty of shells and coral washed up on the shore.

Pakarang Cape is a place worth visiting. It's a quiet spot where you can find a lot of seashells and corals. The view is spectacular, especially during low tide when you can walk further into the sea. The cape offers a romantic setting for watching the sunset. It marks the border between the busy beaches of Khao Lak, filled with seaside resorts and private beach sections, and a 6-7km long beach strip with only about 10 resorts and 15 bars/bistros. This includes Coconut Beach, Ao Thong or White Sand Beach, and Pak Weep Beach. A day trip walking and swimming through these three beaches is a challenging but rewarding experience.
