About Pala-U Waterfall

The natural beauty of this location is truly breathtaking. The lush greenery, the vibrant wildlife, and the stunning waterfalls make it a perfect spot for nature lovers. The hiking trails are a fun way to explore the area, although visitors are only allowed to hike up to level 5. This restriction, however, does not diminish the overall experience. The trails are teeming with beautiful butterflies, adding a touch of magic to the adventure.

The waterfalls, located about 30 miles from Hua Hin, are a must-visit. Visitors are advised to bring their swimwear as there are various pools where they can cool off. The journey to the waterfalls is an adventure in itself, with a trek through the jungle paths. The paths can be steep and require some climbing over rocks, so wearing trainers is recommended. However, some visitors have managed the trek in flip flops. Each level of the waterfall has a pool where visitors can take a dip before proceeding to the next level. The total distance from the bottom to the top is approximately 500-750 meters.

The location is a national park, and there is an entrance fee. The fee for non-Thais is 300 Baht, while Thais are charged 100 Baht. This pricing policy has been a point of contention for some visitors. Despite this, the journey to the park offers beautiful scenery and a pleasant ride.

Some visitors have expressed their disappointment at the pricing policy, feeling that it is unfair to charge foreigners more than locals. This has led to some visitors deciding not to enter the park. However, others have found the experience worth the cost.

The journey to the waterfall is an adventure in itself. One couple encountered a troop of about 50 wild monkeys walking along the side of the road. They spent 15 minutes watching the antics of these animals. On their way home, they were lucky enough to encounter a wild elephant on the road. This was a highlight of their month in Thailand.

The location is popular with both locals and tourists. Visitors are advised to wear good shoes for the trek and to bring a bottle of water. The water is teeming with carp and visitors can swim there too. The highlight for many is seeing a wild elephant walking down the road.

The waterfall is located in a national park and there are facilities such as a small gift shop, toilets, and refreshments available at the start of the trek. There is also a shower and toilet facility near the first level of the waterfall. Visitors are only allowed to bring food up to the first level, but drinks can be taken to the next levels. The higher you go, the more beautiful the waterfall becomes. However, the water isn't the clearest. The park can get crowded on weekends, so it's recommended to visit on weekdays if possible.

The journey from Hua Hin to the waterfall can take about 1.5 hours, so it's advised to leave early. On the way out of the park, visitors may encounter wild elephants crossing the road. This can be both exciting and nerve-wracking, as these are truly wild animals. Despite the thrill, visitors are advised not to stop their cars.

Overall, despite some concerns about the pricing policy, the location offers a unique and memorable experience. The beautiful scenery, the chance to swim in the pools, and the opportunity to see wild animals up close make it a great place to visit.
