About Parntrek
The thrill of trekking through the dense jungle, the excitement of bamboo cooking, and the joy of learning about the local culture and history are just a few of the experiences that await visitors in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The one-day trekking experience is highly recommended, especially with Sami, the jungle man, as the guide. Sami is known for his humor and extensive knowledge about the forest and its inhabitants. The trail, often unused for months, offers a real adventure as Sami clears the path with his machete. The bamboo cooking experience is unique, with Sami surprising his guests with bamboo souvenirs. However, it's worth noting that the trek can be slow-paced, and there's a chance that the hot springs might be closed by the time the trek ends. The tour to northern Thailand is another must-do. The tour is flexible and can be adjusted according to the guests' preferences. The journey offers a variety of impressions, including a visit to the black house, a fantastic and thought-provoking site. However, due to the current situation, the border to Myanmar is closed, making traffic on the bridge impossible. This information is usually shared in advance.
A memorable trek in Chiang Rai is also a fantastic option. Sammy The Jungle Man is a highly recommended guide for this trip. His knowledge about the Chiang Rai jungle is impressive, and he goes out of his way to ensure a good trip for his guests. The highlight of this trek is the BBQ on the second day, which serves the best pork many have ever tasted. The trip also includes a unique souvenir - chopsticks made straight from bamboo in the forest.
For those looking for a day tour in Chiang Rai, Wat is the guide to go with. He is known for his punctuality, warmth, and friendliness. Wat is knowledgeable and humorous, making the tour enjoyable. The tour includes visits to the white temple, the blue temple, and the Black House, which is designed in the style of Lanna. Wat is originally from Lanna, making him an expert on the subject. The tour also includes a visit to the Monkey Temple and the tea plantation. The day ends with a visit to the Laos border, the golden triangle, and a final temple with a viewpoint of Laos.
Another wonderful experience to consider is a day spent with Lisa and her brother. They offer a fun-filled day of hiking in the jungle near Chiang Rai, cooking dinner in a bamboo, and visiting villages hidden in the forest. They share interesting facts about the jungle and Thailand and offer a chance to listen to stories about the locals over a cup of Assam tea picked from the surrounding fields. The day ends with a relaxing dip in a mineral water pool with very warm water.
Bensin is another guide who offers a great one-day trek. Known for his knowledge of the area and his delicious cooking, Bensin's tour includes great scenery and plenty of time to explore different areas.
For those who prefer a proper jungle hike, Wat and Lisa are the guides to choose. Their tour includes a visit to the villages and a glimpse of life outside the city. The bamboo-cooked lunch is a highlight, and the waterfall is a beautiful sight to behold. All in all, a day spent with Wat and Lisa is a day well spent.
