Pattaya Beach, once a pristine paradise, has seen significant changes over the years. The once untouched beach, with its powder-like sand and vibrant coral, has been affected by pollution and over-tourism. The once abundant big fish have dwindled, and the coral has suffered, with much of it now dead. The once quiet beach is now filled with the noise of over 100 longtail boats, and unfortunately, sewage now finds its way into the sea. Despite these changes, the locals continue to live and work here, though some argue they could do more to protect their natural resources.Visitors to Pattaya Beach should be aware of the longtail boats and the sharp, dead coral and stones that now litter the beach. These can make swimming in the sea a challenge, as they can be sharp enough to hurt your feet. Despite these challenges, the beach still has its charms and can offer a unique experience to those who visit.
One of the highlights of Pattaya Beach is the Sita Resort, which is conveniently located on the beach. The resort offers easy access to the beach and the nearby Walking Street area, which is filled with numerous shops and restaurants. The Walking Street is a long stretch of road that offers a variety of dining and shopping options, making it a convenient place to visit during your stay.
Pattaya Beach is also a great destination for families. The water is crystal clear and very calm, making it a safe place for children to swim. The beach offers a relaxing environment where families can spend quality time together, enjoying the beauty of the beach and the surrounding area.
During the low season, from May to November, Pattaya Beach becomes a quieter, more peaceful place. During this time, the longtail and speedboats are moved to Sunrise Beach, leaving Pattaya Beach a more serene place to be. The beach also offers beautiful colors at sunset, and in the early morning, you can see monks strolling down the beach. However, visitors should be aware that there can be trash and broken glass on the beach, and everyone is encouraged to do their part to keep the beach clean.
Pattaya Beach is a lively area, especially during the high season. The beach is also the location of the pier, making it a convenient place to visit. For those seeking a quieter experience, Sunrise Beach is a good alternative. Regardless of where you choose to stay, you'll find plenty of good restaurants and shops to explore.
