This destination is a haven for those who enjoy a lively nightlife and socializing with other travelers. It boasts a wide variety of bars, each offering a similar experience. While it may not provide the unique Thai experience found in other parts of the country, it does offer a vibrant social scene, especially for solo travelers. The prices here are also quite reasonable compared to Bangkok and Phuket.For those willing to spend a bit more, there are opportunities to enjoy boat rides to the nearby islands. However, even budget travelers can have a great time here. There are plenty of activities to enjoy, such as shopping, indulging in both Western and Thai cuisine, getting massages, and visiting entertainment venues.
The beach here is another highlight. It offers beautiful views and a range of exciting activities. Visitors can ride jet boats and jet skis, or even rent a surfboard. The beach is also a great place to relax and play in the sand. The area is known for its fascinating street food and restaurants, many of which have been featured on social media platforms like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. The food prices start at a very affordable 30 Baht.
The beach and its surroundings also offer many picturesque spots, perfect for capturing memories with your loved ones. These spots are popular check-in points on social media. The beach is a place that many visitors fall in love with and often return to for its memorable and impressive experiences.
The area of Soi 6 and the beach in Pattaya are bustling with life. The bars are open, the beer is flowing, and the shops are welcoming customers. However, visitors should be aware that not everyone adheres to mask-wearing and social distancing guidelines.
The area has recently experienced some issues due to heavy rains, and new laws have been introduced prohibiting drinking alcohol and smoking. For those who prefer a beach experience, Jomtien is a recommended alternative.
The beach has undergone some changes and is now a vast expanse of golden sand. The number of beachside vendors has decreased, opening up the views from the promenade. There are safe bathing areas, and the number of speedboats and jet skis has reduced, making bathing more enjoyable. The promenade walk is about 2.5km each way, shaded with palms, and is a popular exercise area. There are many shops, bars, restaurants, and hotels on the other side of Beach Road, although some are currently closed due to lack of trade.
Jomtien beach is another great option. It is clean, quiet, and offers a relaxed atmosphere. Visitors can rent comfortable chairs for 50 baht per day and enjoy attractions such as motor boats and sea bikes. There are also people offering massages on the beach, and vendors selling seafood, drinks, ice cream, clothing, and sea products.
However, not all beaches in the area are recommended for swimming. Some are heavily polluted and are mainly used by tourists for beach activities. The water quality is poor due to sewage drains, and the beach is often crowded with speedboats. It is advisable to seek out cleaner, quieter beaches outside the city for a more pleasant swimming experience.
