A journey out of town to this unique valley is a trip well worth taking. The valley, though not massive, measuring approximately 150m long and 30m wide, is a sight to behold. It's a fascinating place, unlike anything you may have seen before, and a short trip from Phrae will get you there.

The natural creations in the area make for a pleasant walking tour. One of the highlights is the Digdiam tree, also known as the ticklish tree. When you tickle the tree, it responds by shaking, a phenomenon that adds a touch of whimsy to the experience.

Located about 12 kilometers from town, the site is not easily accessible by public transport. You may need to hire a taxi or have your own transport to get there. While it's been advertised as Thailand's answer to the Grand Canyon, it's more of a miniature version. However, it's a pleasant place to visit, especially for a lunchtime outing, with food available on-site.

The park, situated about 12km outside of Phrae, can be a bit challenging to reach due to limited public transport options. Some visitors have opted to cycle there, using free bikes offered by local hotels. The journey is relatively straightforward, with Google maps providing the necessary directions. The geologic features, created through erosion, are quite impressive to see and explore. The only downside is that the area is not extensive, so it doesn't take long to cover the ground. However, it's a worthwhile visit nonetheless.

The site, often referred to as the Phantom Valley, is an interesting place to spend a few hours. It's advisable to bring an umbrella and water, and ensure you have UV protection. While it may not be worth traveling there solely for this, it's certainly a sight to see if you're in the area.

Arriving at the site around 4pm is ideal for capturing the perfect light for photos. The place is smaller than expected but certainly strange, which is why locals believe it's haunted by ghosts. However, these spirits are considered friendly. The site is best visited early in the morning or later in the day to avoid the intense midday heat.

The journey to the site takes about half an hour by motorbike. The main site is stunning, especially when visited in the late afternoon. The near-empty venue and beautiful orange sunlight complement the orange-brown mushroom rock formations that rivers once carved out. It's like a mini Grand Canyon. There were no staff present during some visits, so there was no entrance fee. This place is definitely a highlight of any trip to Phrae. There's also a canal road running north-south, somewhat parallel to highway 101, which is very local and relaxing in the twilight.
