The island is a delightful place to visit, with a beautiful mangrove trail that wraps around it. Visitors can drive to the island and park their car just a short 300-meter walk from the Phra Chedi Klang Nam. There's also a charming bridge located about 1 kilometer from the Phra Chedi Klang Nam, also known as Samut Chedi. The island offers a pleasant detour for travelers on a journey to other destinations. It may not have a lot to offer, but it's a convenient spot for a picnic.

One of the key attractions on the island is the Phra Chedi Klang Nam. The exact age of this chedi is uncertain, but it's believed to be almost 300 years old. While it may not be visually impressive, it holds a significant place in the hearts of the local fishing community. Over the years, it has served as a beacon of safety for fishermen returning from their perilous sea trips. The sight of the spire on top of the chedi signaled that they had returned safely home. It was customary for them to visit the chedi to pray and give thanks for their safe return and the bounties of the sea.

However, visitors should note that the place is not well signposted. Upon arrival, they may need to find a parking spot in the area of Mango trees. The pagoda may also appear smaller than expected, and a visit may not take more than a few minutes. Despite this, it's still worth a visit for its historical significance.

Phra Chedi Klang Nam may not stand out among the numerous chedis scattered throughout Thailand, but it holds local historical significance. Centuries ago, Rayong established itself as a center of the fishing industry in the Gulf of Siam, and numerous fishing villages sprang up along the province's coastline. The chedi served as a landmark and navigational aid for fishermen returning from their night's fishing. In spiritual terms, it symbolized a haven, safe from the dangers of the sea.

In November, the chedi becomes the center of the colorful Loy Krathong Festival. During this festival, Thais float rafts with flowers and candles on the water as a thank you to the goddess of the river. The area around the chedi is pleasantly treed, with tables and chairs set under the shade, making it an ideal place for a picnic. Despite its simplicity, the island and its chedi offer a unique glimpse into the local culture and history, making it a worthwhile stop on any journey.
