The Phrachudadhuj Palace Museum, located on the island of Koh Sri Chang in the Chon Buri province, is a sight to behold. It is the only island palace ever built in Thailand, constructed by King Chulalongkorn in 1889. The palace was initially built as a summer retreat for the royal family, but it was later moved to Bangkok after the French occupation. Today, the palace has been transformed into a museum, showcasing the rich history of the place and the life of King Rama V and his family.

The palace grounds are a delight to explore, with several buildings scattered across the hill and down to the seaside. These include a temple that resembles a church, a statue of King Rama V, a pagoda, and a stone that rings like a bell when struck. There are also several ponds and bridges that add to the charm of the place. The royal pier, built and self-financed by the King, is a beautiful spot to visit.

Despite the relocation of the main palace, the smaller pavilions, a small wat, and a chedi are still present and well-maintained by Chulalongkorn University. The chedi, located at the top of the hill, is a highlight of the visit. It is beautifully kept, clean, and white, standing out against the lush greenery of the park.

The park itself is a peaceful place, perfect for a long walk. It is not crowded, and there are benches scattered around where one can rest. However, some parts of the park are not as well-kept as others, with some ponds filled with rubbish and stray dogs roaming around. Despite this, the park's beauty and historical significance make it a worthwhile visit.

Visitors should prepare for a long walk to fully appreciate everything the palace and its grounds have to offer. It usually takes a few hours to explore the entire place. After the walk, there is a small coffee house where one can sit, relax, and enjoy the view of the sea. There is also a long, beautiful bridge leading to the pier. The palace museum is open to the public free of charge, but it is closed every Monday.

The Phrachudadhuj Palace Museum is a must-visit for those who appreciate nature and classic architecture. It is also a popular spot for photography, especially at the Atsadang Bridge. The palace is easily accessible by boat, with a journey time of only 45 minutes from Sri Racha (Koh Loi).
