The Parc, a popular destination for many, is currently undergoing construction and repairs, and is temporarily closed. The polite ranger on duty suggested an alternative destination, Phu Pha Lom Parc, which is approximately 20 km away. The closure of the Parc was a surprise to many, as there was no sign at the access road indicating the closure. This led to a somewhat frustrating 2.5 km drive along a narrow road, only to find the Parc closed.

Despite the temporary closure, the Parc is known for its breathtaking views and unique experiences. One of the highlights is a flight of stairs that leads to a stunning viewpoint. The climb can be challenging, especially for those who are not used to strenuous physical activity. However, there is a pit-stop near the top where one can rest and enjoy cold drinks. The final push to the top is rewarded with a spectacular view, making the climb worth the effort. It's a perfect spot to watch the sunset, but it's advisable to start the descent before dark as the path can become dangerous due to poor lighting and the appearance of mosquitoes.

For those who are feeling energetic, a steep hike up the mountain overlooking Loei is a must. The hike can be tiring, but the spectacular views on a clear day make it worthwhile. The path to the top is a mix of concrete steps, metal stairs, and a stretch of dirt, rocks, and some paving. It requires a moderate level of fitness and it's recommended to bring along some water. A cave shrine at 350 metres up serves as a stopping point where water is available by an honesty box. The view from the top is impressive, even on a hazy day. The site is well-maintained, with plenty of signage encouraging visitors to keep the area free of rubbish.

The view from the top is truly rewarding, even for those who are not particularly sporty. The climb can be exhausting, but the stunning view makes it all worthwhile. The best time to visit is in the morning, especially during the cold season.

The lookout area is one of the best in Thailand, offering panoramic views over rolling mountains. On a clear day, the view seems to stretch on forever in all directions. The walk to the top is not too long, and most of the distance can be covered by car. The air is clean and crisp, and the lookout is conveniently located close to Muang Loei. It's considered one of the top things to do in Loei.

The Parc also offers a good view over the surrounding area. A trip to the top in the middle of the day in June, however, is not recommended due to the heat. The view over Loei and the surrounding area provides a great perspective on the location and its surroundings. There are not many temples on the way up, but there are toilets at the base. Despite the challenging climb, the view from the top is worth the effort.
