About Phutthamonthon

Phutthamonthon, a beautiful and serene park, is located about 40 minutes from Bangkok. It is a place of tranquility and peace, perfect for a day trip with friends. The park is known for its stunning landscaping and the majestic black standing Buddha idol, which is a sight to behold. The Asean corner is another interesting feature of the park, adding to the overall charm of the place. However, visitors are advised to be prepared for sudden weather changes, as the day can quickly turn from hot to rainy.

One of the main attractions of the park is the large Buddha. However, the visitor's center, despite being open for visitors, often appears abandoned, giving it an eerie feeling. Inside, the desecrated Buddha statues and the stagnant fish ponds add to the strange vibe. The sight of lined up abandoned shoes can be quite unsettling, making the entire experience a bit unusual.

Despite its peculiarities, Phutthamonthon is a very large park with ample parking space for everyone. The park houses a big Buddha statue, which can get a bit crowded during religious holidays. Fish feeding is a popular activity in the park, and visitors can buy a big bag of bread for the fish, although it is slightly more expensive than outside the park. Visitors are advised to bring their own mats to sit and relax, although mats are also available for rent or purchase inside the park. The park is best visited in the afternoon, and visitors can enjoy dinner at the famous restaurant "Ban Nam Kieng Din", located not too far from the park.

Phutthamonthon is considered the spiritual home for Thai Buddhism. It is a tranquil and peaceful place, home to the tallest Buddha statue in Thailand. The grounds are beautifully maintained, making it the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The park is easily accessible by taxi or the number 515 bus that leaves from Victory Monument. It is a park not to be missed.

The park is also a haven for bonsai enthusiasts, boasting some of the best bonsai specimens. There are hundreds of them on display, making it a great day trip for nature lovers. At the center of the park is an enormous statue of Buddha, adding to the calm and serene atmosphere of the place. The park also has canopies for visitors to sit and eat under, and plenty of space for kids to play. There are walkways for jogging, running, or walking, and visitors can choose their own pace. After lunch, visitors can play cards, take a siesta, or spend time admiring the bonsai on display.

Phutthamonthon is arguably the best park in and around Bangkok. This massive city park, built around the tallest statue of Buddha in the world, is truly a sight to behold. Visitors are advised to bring a picnic, their bicycles, fishing gear, and a camera to capture the beauty of the park. The park is well-maintained and features long brick walkways and broad tree-lined lanes, making it a perfect place for a half-day outing. The park is cooler than Bangkok and has an abundance of shade trees, making it a most inviting place to visit.

About an hour outside of Bangkok, this large park features a huge statue of a standing Buddha at its center. It is a good place to get away from the city and ride bikes on the weekend. Mats can be rented to sit under the trees, and there are a few food and drink carts around the park. The park has nice landscaping and convenient restroom locations, making it a great place to take the family. Free parking is also available.
