Pong Duet Geyser, a charming little stopover on the way to Pai, is a must-visit destination for those traveling from Chiangmai. The journey to the park is facilitated by a small paved road, and upon arrival, visitors are greeted with an entry fee of 300 baht for foreigners, 50 for Thai people, and an additional 30 for the car. The tickets also grant same-day access to Pai hot springs and the Huai Nam Dang national park.

Upon entering the park, visitors can park at the first parking lot and embark on a nature trail that spans about 1 km. The geyser, a natural spectacle, is a sight to behold. For those interested in a thermal mineral bath, there is a pool available. However, it can get quite crowded, so some may prefer to save their bath for the Pai hot springs.

The journey to the geyser is not without its challenges. The road at the entrance to the attraction is in poor condition, and the walk from the car park to the geyser is about 350 m. Despite the mossy and potentially slippery terrain, the walk is relatively easy and the geyser's size and activity make the trip worthwhile.

The hot spring is another impressive feature of the park. The bubbling, boiling water is a sight to see, and the walk through the woods to reach it is quite pleasant. There is also a 9 km walking trail for those who wish to explore further. The mineral baths consist of several hot pools, including one that resembles a swimming pool and others that are smaller and more secluded. For those wishing to extend their stay, there are rooms available for overnight stays.

However, some visitors may find the journey to Pong Duet less than ideal. The road to the park is rough and in poor condition, and the entry fee may seem steep for some, especially for families with children. The geyser, while interesting, may not meet everyone's expectations. Despite these drawbacks, the park's natural beauty and the opportunity to see a variety of butterflies along the trail may still make the trip worthwhile for some.

The park is not as crowded on weekdays, making it a more peaceful experience. There are also nice cabins available for rent in various sizes. Below the swimming pool spa, there are more springs to explore. Visitors can also sit in the river, but caution is advised as the water can be very hot. The setting is fantastic, but it's recommended not to stay in the water for more than 10 minutes to avoid overheating.

While the hot spring and the beautiful gardens are interesting and enjoyable to see, some may find the cost prohibitive if they're only interested in seeing the hot spring. There may be other, more affordable places to visit. Despite the high cost and the poor state of the road leading to the hot spring, the unique experience it offers may still make it a worthwhile stop for some.
