This location is a delightful spot for an afternoon outing. The area is well developed with a plethora of restaurants and lounging spots. It's a wonderful place to watch the sea and enjoy the breeze. Visitors can also take the opportunity to delve into the local folklore and fairy tales.The coastline is dotted with a few resorts and restaurants, making it a quiet and somewhat isolated place. It's a bit of a journey from the hustle and bustle of city life, which adds to its charm. However, the beach is minimal, with very little sand between the sea and the sea wall, especially at high tide. But for those who appreciate tranquility and seclusion, this could be an ideal destination.
Unfortunately, some visitors have noticed a decline in the area's charm. Once a quaint little beach known for its peace and quiet, it has seen some changes. The beach is now more developed, with an increase in commercial activity that some find unappealing. The once open areas are now filled with buildings and umbrellas, and the beach is often patrolled by dogs and marketers. The once friendly atmosphere has been replaced with a more aggressive vibe, and the cleanliness of the area has suffered. The characters from Thai fables that once added to the charm of the area are now harder to spot among the umbrellas and buildings.
Despite these changes, there are still plenty of nice restaurants and coffee shops next to the beach. It's a great place to stop for a drink or a bite to eat. However, some visitors have noted that the staff at these establishments can be quite assertive in trying to attract customers.
The area is not particularly known for its attractions, but it can be a nice addition to a day of sightseeing. It won't take long to see everything, but there are some nice restaurants to enjoy.
One of the unique features of this location is the Puek Tian Beach in Phetchaburi. It's not ideal for swimming due to its rocky terrain, but it's famous for its statues in the water. These statues depict characters from the 30,000 line story called Phra Aphai Mani by Sunthon Phu, one of Thailand's greatest poets. These characters are a part of Thai culture and even show up in current TV programs. The most prominent of these statues is a six-meter tall Pee Seua Samut, an aquatic she-demon. At low tide, it's possible to walk out to these islands to get a closer look.
The beach itself is okay, but it doesn't quite measure up to some of the more renowned beaches in Thailand. However, it can be a nice change of pace because there are very few tourists here. Most of the visitors are Thai people, which can provide a more authentic experience.
