About Sai Ngam Hot Spring

The hot springs in Pai, Thailand, are a popular destination for travelers seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. However, the experience can vary greatly depending on the specific hot spring visited and the time of day.

One of the hot springs charges 400 baht per person, which includes a day trip to other spots in the surrounding area. However, if visitors choose not to visit these additional spots, they may feel that they are paying too much for just a warm bath, as this particular spring is not a hot spring.

On the other hand, there is a lovely warm spring that is not hot, but the water is crystal clear and welcoming. Visitors can spend hours here just hanging out, meeting fellow travelers, and enjoying the comfortable temperature. The road to get here is a bit steep, especially on a motorbike, but it is definitely doable. The entrance fee is 420 baht, which includes 200 per person and 20 for a motorbike. It is about a 30-minute motorbike ride from Pai. For those seeking a natural hot spring, Muang Paeng Hot Spring is recommended.

The hot spring pool offers a pleasant temperature and a gentle walk from the car park. However, there are sharp rocks to traverse, so it is suggested that visitors wear water shoes. Toilet and change room facilities are available on site and included in the ticket price, but visitors need to bring their own toilet paper.

Some visitors may find the hot springs too expensive for what they offer. For example, one hot spring charges 240 baht for two small warm pools. Some visitors prefer other hot springs that charge only 60 baht and offer a greater variety of hot springs. The drive to the hot springs is quite pleasant and full of scenery, although the last portions leading to the waterfall are quite steep.

The hot springs are a relaxing spot, but the price can be more than expected. It costs 200 per person to enter the national park, plus 20 for a scooter and 20 each to enter the springs. Some visitors recommend going on a tour as it could be cheaper and offer the opportunity to see more places.

However, not all experiences at the hot springs are positive. Some visitors may find the water to be lukewarm and dirty, and the area can be crowded with loud people drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. It may be more enjoyable to visit early in the morning when it is quieter.

Despite the mixed experiences, some visitors consider one of the hot springs in Pai to be the best. It charges only 40 baht, in comparison to the 200 or 300 charged by others. The springs are crystal clear and clean, very relaxing, spacious, and not at all overcrowded. Sunbathing is also an option, with a great view. The water isn't scalding, but like getting into a big gorgeous bath.
