About Sai Noi Beach
The beach in question is an average one for the area, but it has its own unique charm. Upon arrival, one can't help but notice the beach club to the right. It offers sun beds for 500 baht each, which might seem steep, but the cost can be offset by ordering food and drinks from the club's restaurant or using their pool. If you don't plan on eating or drinking, it might be a bit pricey for a sun bed. However, further to the right, there are more affordable sun beds available for 60 baht, where you can order food and drinks from a local Thai lady or even eat at the beach club.One of the unique features of this beach is the opportunity to get a massage right on the sand. However, be prepared for the occasional mosquito bite. The sea here is quite deep and the floor drops off quickly, which might be a bit challenging for some. The initial entry into the water can be a bit stony, but it's worth it. After 14 years of visiting the area, it's safe to say that this is one of the better beaches around Hua Hin.
Despite its size, the beach is quite beautiful and offers a quiet retreat. Vendors are conveniently located nearby for those who want a drink or some food. There's free parking for scooters, which is a plus. A trail behind a large rock leads to a giant Buddha, offering stunning views of the area. From there, another set of stairs leads to another beach and a temple built alongside the water's edge. It's truly an amazing place.
The beach is small and cozy, and while it can get a bit crowded, it's never too overcrowded. A local Thai lady rents out sun beds and sells drinks and food at her beach cafe. The beach is also a great spot for families. The waves can get quite rough, which adds to the enjoyment for the kids. The sea is often further out, creating a much larger beach area.
Located 30kms south of Hua Hin in Pak Nam Pran, Sai Noi Beach is a quieter and more serene alternative to Hua Hin. It offers food, drinks, and the usual facilities against a lovely backdrop. However, there's a lot of construction underway, which might be a bit of a nuisance. Once completed, it promises to be a great spot for relaxation. It's also a great place for kite flying, thanks to the wind.
Despite its beauty, the beach has its share of issues. It's one of the most secluded and beautiful beaches in Thailand, just 12km south of Hua Hin city. However, the local authorities or the villagers of Kao Tao seem to have overlooked the importance of sustainable tourism. The beach is not cleaned regularly and tends to collect all sorts of garbage due to currents and tides. This could potentially deter tourists from visiting. The food served on the beach is also more expensive than in Hua Hin city. However, there's a small family restaurant on the road leading to the beach that offers delicious Thai lunch for between 1 and 2 USD. Despite its issues, the beach remains a beautiful destination worth visiting.
