About San Kamphaeng Hot Springs

San Kamphaeng Hot Springs is a place that appeals to families with children, school excursions, or a day out with friends. The area is filled with several winding streams of heated water where visitors can soak their feet in. The water is hot, ranging between 45 and 50 degrees Celsius. There is also a separate area where visitors can cook eggs in the hot water. The area is also adorned with several geysers, providing excellent photo opportunities. It's a fun place where children can run around, and adults can relax. It's not overly exciting, but it serves as a nice rest stop.

San Kamphaeng Hot Springs is a well-maintained park setting, with shade trees and flowers everywhere. The entrance fee is minimal, and the hot mineral stream for your feet is a delightful experience. There are private tub rooms available for a small fee, and a large hot water pool. Foot massage therapists are on standby, ready to provide a heavenly experience. For those living in or visiting Chiang Mai, San Kamphaeng is a must-see location.

The recreational center is about an hour from the old city of Chiang Mai. The territory is beautiful, filled with flowers, smart infrastructure, and relaxing facilities. The entrance fee is reasonable, and there are additional amenities such as a mineral water hot swimming pool, towel rentals, and foot and Thai massages. There is also a Thai restaurant on the territory with delicious dishes and modest prices. If time permits, visitors can stay for one or two nights as there is an accommodation service available.

The hot springs geyser into the air via a set of pipes that run openly on the ground. There are a couple of pools where locals boil eggs. The actual pool requires an additional fee after paying the park entrance fee. The entrance is well marked, and after paying, visitors can walk inside to view the garden, a giant mushroom statue, and a small manmade stream where they can place their feet in warm water. If planning to swim, it's advisable to bring a towel to avoid paying for one there.

The geyser of hot spring water is worth a visit, but the boiling of eggs in the hot water and the numerous open alcohol containers may cheapen the experience for some. The design and maintenance could be improved, but swimming in the mineral water pool, with a temperature like bathwater, is uniquely satisfying. The cost is incredibly slight, and it's worth it if you enjoy journeys out in the sun, into the bush, natural beauty, and hot springs in general.

San Kamphaeng Hot Springs is not for everyone. Some visitors may find the place manufactured and set up with tourists in mind. The hot spring is set up similar to a fountain with hot water spurting into the air, and visitors are encouraged to buy eggs and cook them in the fountain. There is a pool that some may find uninviting, and a restaurant with high prices and low standard food. There is also a hot spring bath in a dirty stained tub and a massage service that some may find unsatisfactory.

For those who love soaking in thermal water, San Kamphaeng Hot Springs near Chiang Mai is a delight. The place is pretty and park-like, where visitors can soak, swim, or just walk around the park and enjoy the scenery. The pricing structure is unusual for a hot springs. Visitors pay to get into the park, then pay if they want to soak in the tubs, and then pay if they want to go in the small pool with a small but pounding man-made waterfall. There is also a massage room and foot massages in chairs by the pool. The water is wonderfully hot and sulfuric, and visitors can adjust the temperature to their liking. The park is very pretty, and visitors can have a really relaxing day out there.

To get to San Kamphaeng Hot Springs, visitors will need to hire a driver from Chiang Mai. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes each way. The driver can also help visitors understand the system and answer questions about the place. Despite some of the negative aspects, many visitors have a wonderful time at San Kamphaeng Hot Springs.
