About Sao Chaleang

The Sao Chaliang, located within the Pha Taem National Park, is a sight to behold. It's a place where nature's artistry is on full display, with gigantic mushroom-shaped rocks that have been naturally formed over time. These rocks are not only impressive in size but also in their unique shape, making them a popular spot for photography enthusiasts.

Visitors often make a brief stop at Sao Chaliang on their way to other historical sites, such as Par Thiam. However, this site has much more to offer than just a quick photo opportunity. The area is multi-leveled, providing different perspectives for photographers to capture the perfect shot. Despite being a brief stop for many, Sao Chaliang is a treasure trove for photographers.

The park is easily accessible by car, and once there, visitors can take a leisurely walk around the area. A short climb is required to get a closer look at the rocks and to reach Lan Hin Tak, the divide stones located a bit higher up. From this vantage point, visitors can see the large cracks in the rocks, a testament to the power of natural forces.

On the way to the cliff paintings in Pha Taem National Park, there's a turn-off to this attraction. It's well worth the detour for the chance to capture some great shots of these impressive rock formations. The area can get busy with visitors, but most people don't stay long. If you continue walking, you'll reach a plateau area with deep crevices and stunning views of the park. A visit to this attraction won't take more than 20 minutes, making it a perfect pit stop during a day of exploration.

While the entrance fee to the park may seem steep, the experience of seeing these unique rock formations up close is worth it. However, if you're looking for a free alternative, you can head to the Mekong below the National Park. Here, you can still enjoy the beauty of the area without the cost.

In conclusion, whether you're a photography enthusiast or a nature lover, a visit to Sao Chaliang in Pha Taem National Park is a must. The unique rock formations, the stunning views, and the opportunity to see nature's artistry up close make it a worthwhile stop on any trip.
