Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a neat little park, surrounded by towering rocks. The park is a selfie-lover's paradise, but the real adventure begins when you venture through the natural arch. This leads to a maze of trails that take you past, over, and often through a plethora of bizarre rock formations.

The trails are a bit of a maze, and while it's possible to navigate them without a guide, having one could be beneficial. Along the way, you'll pass a large white Buddha statue and eventually reach a fantastic viewpoint. The journey doesn't end where it began, but a bus-tractor hybrid is available to take you back to the starting point for a small fee. A noodle shop located next to the park offers a convenient spot for a meal after your adventure.

The rock formations are reminiscent of those found in Kunming, earning the area the nickname "Loei's Kunming." The one-hour tour through these formations is both fun and exhilarating, sparking the imagination with shapes that resemble baby elephants, lions, T-rex, and even Homer Simpson. After the trail, a great Thai lunch awaits.

The area is also suitable for families with small children. A bush walk is available, and it's recommended to pay for the guided walk fee at the visitor center. The walk is manageable for children as young as five, who are sure to love the experience.

Beyond the natural beauty, the small town stop is quite charming and popular with locals. An hour from the city, this idyllic countryside offers peaceful fresh frontiers. Venturing into the heart of this view spot opens another gateway, leading to a path that further deepens the adventure. At the end of the walk, a small local market awaits, offering a very Thai ending to the journey. Souvenir shops, refreshments, and restaurants are plentiful, with ample traditional food to taste or take away.

The journey to the rocks can be made on foot or by transport. The ground can be muddy, so sensible footwear is recommended. The first part of the tour involves a steep climb up stairs to the top of the mountain. It can be tiring, but the effort is well worth it for the beautiful views. The tour then continues around the cliff formations, which are impressive. Some passages can be narrow and slippery, so caution is advised. Despite the physical effort required, the experience is well worth the 17km detour from route 201 to Chiang Khan.
