The palace, which used to belong to the grandchild of King Rama V, consists of seven traditional Thai houses and one modern house, all nestled in the middle of a tropical garden in the city. Suan Pakkad Palace is a hidden delight in downtown Bangkok. It's a low-key version of Jim Thompson House, but the upside is that visitors often have the place to themselves.
