About Suphachalasai National Stadium

The Crystal Football Club is a haven for football enthusiasts, boasting not only two artificial turf fields for regular play, but also a large, standard-sized field that can accommodate 11 players. This stadium is a popular spot for artists, actors, and other celebrities who often come together to enjoy the facilities. On a lucky day, visitors might even cross paths with their favorite stars.

The stadium's entrance is a sight to behold. The original 1935 entrance is a stunning example of Art Deco architecture that leaves visitors in awe. Even if one doesn't have the time to explore the entire complex, a quick visit to admire the entrance is highly recommended for architecture enthusiasts.

The stadium's old-school charm is further enhanced by the well-preserved entrance and well-maintained track. While guided tours may not always be available, visitors are encouraged to explore the stadium and soak in the atmosphere.

The main stadium closes at 8pm, after which the lights go off and the gates are locked. However, a 200m track next to the main stadium remains available for use after 8pm. The stadium tends to be crowded from 6-7:30pm, but the crowd thins out after 7:30pm, making it a great spot for interval training.

Located near the heart of a bustling commercial shopping area, the stadium is not just a site for sports activities, but also a historic landmark of Bangkok. It holds many memories, particularly for those who remember the glory days of the stadium and the traditional football-soccer games between two major universities in Bangkok. It's a great spot for exercise, a leisurely walk, or a photo opportunity.

Suphachalasai Stadium, also known as the National Stadium, is a massive multi-purpose stadium complex in central Bangkok. It has hosted three Asian Games since its inauguration in 1935 and can accommodate over 26,000 people. The complex includes two outdoor stadia, a gymnasium, an Olympic-sized pool, and an indoor stadium. It is primarily used for football matches, but also hosts other large-scale sporting events. Conveniently, it has its own dedicated BTS station.

The stadium is a popular spot for afternoon exercise. Many people come to jog, play football, or use the outdoor sports machines that are available free of charge. The lively atmosphere makes it a great place to meet new friends. After a workout, visitors can enjoy a nice dinner at nearby Siam Square. The stadium's location, opposite a hotel, makes it a convenient spot for tourists looking for a fun and active afternoon in Bangkok.
