The lake, located near the city of Phattalung and less than a two-hour drive from Hatyai, is a wildlife sanctuary, especially for the protection of birds. It is important to note that the boats are without roofs and it can get very hot at midday, so it is better to start early. The park is open between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. daily. While the entrance is free, there is a fee for the boat ride. It is advisable to bring along sunblock, sunglasses, a hat, and some drinking water.

This place is unique and underrated. One must wake up very early in the morning to catch the swimming buffalo, and to avoid the heat. It is an amazing and beautiful sight. There is a booth providing long-tail boat service, with a signboard showing map of routes and prices. The shortest route, ROUTE A, lasts for an hour and costs 450 baht per boat. The lotus are still beautiful, but it is advisable to come prepared with sunblock, or to arrive early in the morning.
