The journey began with a 12-day tour of Vietnam, meticulously planned by a travel agent named Kate. She was always available to answer questions and resolve any issues that arose, responding promptly and providing detailed explanations of what to expect during the trip. This level of service and attention to detail made the Vietnam tour a truly memorable experience.

However, the journey took a turn for the worse during a minivan trip from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. The travelers had initially planned to take the Greenbus, but upon discovering a travel agency offering a minivan service with a stop at the White Temple, they decided to give it a try. The minivan service was advertised as a comfortable, air-conditioned ride for 12 people, all for 350 baht per person. It seemed like a good deal, especially considering the added convenience of not having to purchase bus tickets in advance.

Unfortunately, the minivan experience did not live up to expectations. The vehicle arrived 40 minutes late and was so packed that there was barely room for their carry-on luggage. The travelers were squeezed into the front of the minivan, next to the driver, with no seat belts available. Despite the air conditioning, the overcrowded conditions made the ride uncomfortable and hot.

The journey was further complicated by an unexpected lunch stop and a sudden change of vehicles. The travelers were moved to a pickup truck, which was supposed to take them directly to Chiang Rai. However, communication was difficult due to language barriers, and the situation felt suspicious.

The trip to the White Temple was marred by heavy rain, and the travelers were forced to wait in the vehicle while the driver took a break. They were then informed that they would be dropped off at a bus terminal farther away from the city center than originally planned. Despite their requests to be dropped off at their hotel instead, the driver refused to accommodate them.

The journey, which was supposed to take three hours, ended up taking four. The travelers were left feeling frustrated and inconvenienced by the experience. They decided to take the bus for their return trip to Chiang Mai, vowing not to use the same travel agency again.
