About The Market Bangkok
The mall, although relatively new, has seen a significant change since its inception. Once bustling with a variety of shops, it now stands with a noticeable absence of the same. The only notable store that remains is DONKI, a stark contrast to the promising concept that the mall once embodied. The vastness of the mall now seems to echo with emptiness, a sentiment shared by many who visit. It's a melancholic sight, seeing such a promising concept reduced to a mere shadow of its former self.Despite its current state, the mall does hold some potential for the future. It's a new addition to the city's shopping scene, and while it may not offer anything particularly unique at the moment, there are plans for new stores to open soon. One such store that has been generating some excitement is Don Don Donki. For now, the mall serves as a decent spot for local food, offering a respite from the crowded street food scene and providing a less crowded alternative.
The food court, in particular, has been praised for its affordability and quality. It's a good place to grab a bite, especially if you're looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of street food stalls. The mall's cleanliness is another point in its favor, with clean toilets and well-maintained facilities. It's located conveniently next to Big C, making it an easy stop for those already in the area.
The mall houses a few well-known eateries, such as the famous Go Ang Pratunam chicken rice, After You dessert cafe, Tiger Sugar, and Koi bubble tea. The upcoming addition of Don Don Donki is also something to look forward to. However, despite these offerings, the mall has been criticized for its lack of variety and uniqueness. Many of the goods that can be found here, such as tourist souvenirs and clothing, can also be found at other locations like the Chatuchak market, night markets, and the Platinum Fashion Mall.
The mall's size is impressive, but many of the stalls remain unoccupied. This gives the place a somewhat lifeless feel, which can be off-putting for some visitors. Despite this, the mall does offer a variety of restaurants and cafes, as well as some stalls selling shirts, accessories, and souvenirs. It serves as an alternative to the more crowded malls, offering a more relaxed shopping experience.
One of the mall's more unique features is its selection of trendy gifts and souvenirs. These booths offer items of better quality than those found at the usual Chatucak and Night Markets. The mall seems to cater to a younger demographic, with most of its shops and booths being suitable for teenagers and those in their 20s. Hipster cafes like After You Desserts and Moshi are also available for those looking to escape the crowds in Siam. Despite its newness, the mall has managed to carve out a niche for itself, offering trendy, uniquely Thai souvenirs that can't be found elsewhere.
