About Three Owls Gallery

Chiang Mai, a city known for its rich culture and history, is also home to a unique watercolour gallery. This gallery is the only one of its kind in the city, showcasing the work of local artist, Worawuth Srakaeo. Worawuth, also known as Wut or Woot, is not just an artist but also a teacher, offering watercolour lessons for individuals and small groups right in the heart of Chiang Mai. These lessons are tailored to suit the learner's level, welcoming everyone from absolute novices to experienced amateurs. The best part? All the materials needed for the lessons are provided.

Wut is known for his personable and humorous nature, which makes the learning experience enjoyable. His vast knowledge and skill in watercolour painting are shared generously with his students, making the lessons highly recommended for anyone interested in painting.

Learning watercolour painting with Wut is not just about acquiring a new skill, it's also about building confidence. His honest critiques and important techniques significantly improve the learner's painting skills. The end of each class leaves the learner with a sense of accomplishment and the confidence to paint at a higher level than before.

Visiting the studio is an experience in itself. The relaxed atmosphere, the prepared brushes, and the good advice make it a great place to learn. The only downside? The lessons are only two hours a day, leaving the learners wanting more. But the good news is, many are willing to travel far and even plan to return for more lessons.

The gallery is not just a place to learn, it's also a place to appreciate art. Unlike many art shops that feature the same themes, this gallery exhibits original watercolour art. Wut's passion for his work is evident in his paintings, enhancing the Thai experience for visitors. Although a little out of the way, it's easy to get to and definitely worth the effort.

Wut's teaching style is highly recommended. He covers all the main techniques with joy, patience, and skillful brush strokes. His experience and playful view of watercolour painting push the learners forward, making it an enchanting medium to explore.

The courses are not just for locals, but also for solo travelers. One can spend a week learning the techniques of watercolour painting and enjoy every minute of it. The fun and creative environment, coupled with Wut's experience and guidance, make it a memorable experience. Some learners even get the chance to paint a beautiful temple at the university. The courses are so enjoyable that many plan to return for more lessons.

Whether you're a resident of Chiang Mai or a visitor, whether you want to learn watercolour painting for fun or because you're a serious artist, enrolling in one of Wut's watercolour classes is highly recommended. Not only will you fall in love with his paintings, but you'll also enjoy the learning experience.
