About Time For Lime

The first and foremost cooking school on the island has been imparting culinary wisdom to students for an impressive 21 years. Each day, the school offers a different menu, designed to reflect the structure of a traditional Thai meal. The school is inclusive, catering to vegans, vegetarians, and pescatarians alike. The day begins with a lively cocktail class to set the mood, followed by an in-depth tasting theory and curry paste introduction. Students then proceed to prepare 3-4 dishes, a process filled with learning, chopping, laughter, and the opportunity to make new friends. The cooking is interspersed with breaks, which can be spent in the nearby swimming pool. By the end of the day, around 5 pm, students leave with a wealth of knowledge, fond memories, and a very satisfied stomach. The school provides free two-way transport, recipes, and an apron to take home.

The cooking school is also a supporter of Lanta Animal Welfare, a non-profit charity. All profits from the school go directly to this charity, which provides essential help to stray, abused, and abandoned dogs and cats. So, students should be prepared for some furry cuddles too! The cooking class is a fantastic, fun experience that is highly recommended by many.

The cooking school is part of a 5-day trip on Koh Lanta. The class is fun, enjoyable, and interesting, especially for those who love to cook and learn. The head chef, Noi, is fantastic, friendly, and highly knowledgeable about his trade. The kitchen staff are excellent, keeping the place spotless and efficient. The class size is perfect, with a group of 8 students. The program includes tasting and learning to make cocktails, then preparing and cooking 4 delicious dishes. The proceeds from the class go to the Lanta Animal Welfare charity, run by Junie, who is passionate about her work and truly makes a difference.

The cooking school also offers special events, such as New Year’s Eve celebrations. These include cocktail making, wine tasting, and watching the midnight fireworks from a long tail boat, in addition to the cooking class. The staff are exceptionally friendly and informative. The evening is excellent value for money, and even better, the proceeds go towards helping animals.

The cooking school is more than just a typical cooking class. The hosts are extremely informative, create a relaxing atmosphere, and focus on the fun of cooking with friends and family. Students learn to make famous chili margaritas, fried papaya salad, tom kha, and an amazing panang curry. The cooking stations are super handy, allowing students to prepare at their workplace and take it over to the burners. Once finished, there is another counter with lots of finishing touch herbs, different plates, and banana leaves to make a nice presentation of the dishes. The cooking school is a fantastic experience, unlike any other cooking course in Thailand.

The cooking school is a must-do while visiting Koh Lanta. It is a great place to meet lovely travelers and enjoy a night of cooking and eating. The cocktails are brilliant, and the view over the water at sunset is lovely. Plus, the majority of funds raised go towards the animal welfare shelter, another amazing project on the island run by the Time for Lime owner. The food is so tasty, and students get a printout of recipes to take home and a little apron to keep. The school is run very professionally.

The cooking school offers a fantastic foodie adventure. The tuition is top-notch, and the chef, Noi, makes the whole experience great fun. The food created by the students is absolutely delicious, and they are furnished with recipes so they can recreate the dishes at home. Noi is particularly wonderful with children, and is especially caring and helpful when needed. The cooking school is highly recommended. Students are advised to go with a very empty stomach and a hearty appetite!
