About Touring Center
The Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet, is a fascinating destination that offers a unique blend of culture, history, and natural beauty. The journey to this region is often organized with great precision, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for travelers. The trip typically includes a boat ride on the Mekong River, offering a glimpse of Laos and Myanmar. The journey is often made in a comfortable Toyota minibus, with well-timed breaks for delicious food and complimentary coffee. On the way to the Golden Triangle, travelers often visit the White Temple in Chiang Rai and the ancient city. The White Temple, with its intricate designs and stunning architecture, is a sight to behold. However, it can get crowded, so it's advisable to plan your visit accordingly.
Another popular destination in the region is the Doi Inthanon National Park. The park offers a variety of experiences, including the Angka Nature Trail, the pagodas, Karen village, Pha Dok Siew Nature Trail, and an additional waterfall. A visit to the park is often complemented by a nice lunch at the Royal Project. The Inthanon National Park is also home to the Hmong market and Karen Hill Tribe village, which offer a glimpse into the local culture and lifestyle.
However, it's important to note that the journey to these destinations can be long and tiring. The trip often starts early in the morning and includes several hours of driving. Some travelers have expressed concerns about the driving habits of some drivers, especially during the night. Therefore, it's advisable to be prepared for a long day and ensure that you're comfortable with the driving conditions.
Despite the long journey, many travelers find the trip worthwhile. The van provided for the journey is usually very comfortable, and the tour guides are often humorous and informative. The trip typically includes a visit to the hot springs, the White Temple, and the remnants of the 7th-century Thai kingdom at Chiang Saen. The lunch provided is usually a delicious meal of Thai food served family style.
The trip also includes a visit to the Opium Museum and a boat ride to Laos. The market in Laos may not be particularly interesting, but the boat ride and the unique geographical location make it an interesting experience. However, some travelers have found the market visit unnecessary and would have preferred to spend more time at other locations.
In conclusion, a trip to the Golden Triangle and the surrounding areas is a unique experience that offers a blend of culture, history, and natural beauty. However, it's a long journey that requires a lot of driving, so it's important to be prepared. Despite the long journey, many travelers find the trip worthwhile and would highly recommend it to others.
