About Wat Chetawan
The temple, though not the most famous, is a must-see for anyone interested in Thai architecture. The intricate carvings and decorations are truly outstanding, and the interior is simply breathtaking. The temple's design is a testament to the skill and artistry of the craftsmen who built it. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the ornate carvings to the stunning decorations. The inside of the temple is just as impressive, with its gorgeous design and serene atmosphere.Located just a short distance from Tha Phae Gate, the entrance to the Old City, the temple offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The temple grounds are a haven of tranquility, far removed from the noise of traffic and loud motorcycles. Chickens roam freely around the area, adding to the authentic feel of the place. The temple itself is decorated in the traditional red, gold, and white, and is a more modern building.
The interior of the temple is spacious, with three white buddhas at the rear. The walls are adorned with plenty of murals near the ceiling, and there's a decorative table made out of a dragon, which is quite interesting. This temple is definitely worth a visit if you're on a temple tour near Tha Phae Gate.
The temple is a blend of Burmese and Lanna styles, with two square chedi and amazing murals in the main hall. The combination of these two architectural styles gives the temple a unique and distinctive look. The murals in the main hall are particularly impressive, showcasing the artistic talent of the local artists.
What sets this temple apart from others in Chiang Mai is its compact size and the presence of three chedi, a feature not commonly seen in other temples. Despite its compact size, the temple does not skimp on details. The chedi are not small, and the viharn is beautifully decorated with bright murals of the scriptures on the interior walls. This temple is definitely worth a visit for its unique features and beautiful architecture.
