About Wat Mongkol Wararam

The temple is a sight to behold, a testament to the beauty of spiritual structures and shrines. It's a place where one can find peace and tranquility, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The temple is not just a place of worship, but also a haven for cats, making it a unique destination for cat lovers.

The temple's architecture is a marvel, a testament to the countless hours and strong beliefs that went into its construction. It's a sight that stands out, especially for those who have seen numerous churches and buildings but have never seen a temple before. The temple's beauty is not just confined to its exterior, but extends to its interior as well.

The temple is conveniently located within walking distance from the beach. It is nestled amidst several beautiful buildings in a lush green garden. Despite its beauty, it is not a major attraction by Phuket standards, which means it is not crowded. This gives visitors the opportunity to walk in peace while enjoying the garden and architecture. The temple is still a work in progress, with one building still under construction, but it still exudes a lovely charm.

The temple grounds offer beautiful views, made even more enjoyable with the help of a knowledgeable tour guide. The guide is not only informative but also eager to please, making the tour a memorable experience.

The temple, locally known as Wat Naiyang, is the only Wat in the Naiyang area. It is situated just off the main road to the airport, going towards Naiyang Beach. Despite not being as grand as other temples, it is a peaceful place with beautifully kept gardens. It is a lovely place to walk around in the late evening or early morning. The Main Hall's facade features murals depicting Buddha's biography, and the temple is overlooked by a large gold statue of Buddha. A new shrine, which holds a white Reclining Buddha, is currently under construction. The temple's walls are made up of mirrored mosaic that glistens brightly at certain times of the day, depending on the light. The temple is also home to dogs and cats that have been abandoned but are fed by locals.

The temple is an interesting place to visit, tucked away off the main street. A walk through the temple grounds in the late afternoon is a delightful experience, with the different patterns, designs, colors, and statues catching the eye. Although there is no English information about the temple, the beauty of the grounds and the buildings is enough to captivate visitors.

While there may be more impressive temples in the south of Phuket, particularly close to Phuket City, this temple is worth a visit if one is staying close by. It may not be the grandest, but it has its own charm that makes it a nice place to visit if one has sufficient time. The temple is not just a place of worship, but also a place of peace, beauty, and tranquility.
